Changing Seasons

Looking out of my window, I can see the leaves on trees changing their colors and falling off. The colors on the mountainside are a beautiful part of this wonderful world. The recent drop in temperature has helped me appreciate the warm and sunny days we’ve had even more. Having an attitude of gratitude is crucial in life. When we adopt a thankful approach, we begin to see the world through different eyes. As the season changes, winter is approaching. Despite the cold weather that comes with it, we can prepare ourselves and even thrive during this season.

Prep Step for October, 2023: Squash

WHAT IS A SQUASH?

First things first. Is squash a fruit or a vegetable? Squash are fruits. They contain seeds and come from the flowering part of a plant. Practical Courses with Spiritual Benefits

The Lord has said, “It is my purpose to provide for my saints . . . but it must needs be done in mine own way” (Doctrine and Covenants 104:15, 16). This is a promise that Heavenly Father will help take care of His children as they follow Him. Self-reliance does not mean that we can accomplish or obtain anything we want. If we are self-reliant we believe that through the power of Christ, and through our own effort, we can work for the spiritual and practical needs of life. Many people can become more self-reliant. With Self Reliance Groups much of the work takes place in small groups that combine spiritual principles with practical skills.
The next Self Reliance Groups will start in January 2024. Groups will be organized according to the interest for each type of group.

Seek guidance from voices you can trust—from prophets, seers, and revelators and from the whisperings of the Holy Ghost, who “will show unto you all things what ye should do.” Please do the spiritual work to increase your capacity to receive personal revelation.”
Our Prophet has asked to increase our capacity to receive personal revelation. As we increase our capacity to receive revelation, our capacity to see what’s happening around us also increases. President Nelson asked us to “be prepared” and “Seek guidance from voices you can trust—from prophets, seers, and revelators and from the whisperings of the Holy Ghost, who “will show unto you all things what ye should do.”
Prophets have taught us things we should be doing in order to prepare for challenges that may occur …
