Everything You Need to Know about Food Preservation and Storage
That’s What We’re hoping to teach you at the Emergency Preparedness and Self-Reliance Fair from 9-5 on April 20th at 105 Fishburn Drive!
But we can’t do it without YOUR help!!!
Please contact: Sherry Christensen if you can help us out in any of these areas:

Demos and/or Displays:

  1. How to seal food in #10 cans (we have the sealer & cans)
  2. How to vacuum pack foods (we have one vacuum packer)
  3. How to make bread
  4. How to make egg noodles and dumplings
  5. Where to store food (bring examples, tri-fold displays, pictures, etc.)
    Preparing Food Samples: before proceeding with any of these, be sure to contact Sherry to confirm who is making what MUST be home-made; do not bring something bought from a store
  6. Breads of all kinds: MUST BE 5”x 2½” loaves, placed in clear plastic bags w/twist-ties (please label: name, phone #, type of bread, recipe) Bring all breads to Sherry between 9am and 9pm on April 18 or 19. Breads may be pre-made and frozen before bringing to Sherry.)
  7. Bread spreads: (label: name, phone, type of spread, recipe)
  8. Salad: we have the recipe if you can provide the ingredients & make it 1 or 2 days before the fair.
  9. Dried Fruits, Veggies, Fruit-Leather: cut into bite-sized pieces (label: name, phone #, type of, recipe)

I also need some signs and/or posters made – to identify “booths” – to direct the flow of people traffic
Be prepared to take pictures of posters, displays, and demos!
