Ordinance Worker Shifts

Shifts are on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday with a Morning, Mid-Day, and Evening Shift each day.

Temple Service Missionary Descriptions / Shifts

The following are brief descriptions of Temple Service Missionary positions to serve in the temple.These positions are usually a 4 or 5-hour shift one day each week (Morning, Afternoon, Evening). These positions are dependent on availability, day of week, and time of day depending on the position. Temple Service Missionaries may continue to serve in other callings as appropriate.

• Facility Service Missionaries – Various activities in the facilities department.
  • Positions are Monday – Saturday; Mornings and afternoons.
• Office Service Missionaries – Various activities in the office.
  • Positions are Monday – Saturday; Mornings, afternoons, and evenings.
• Laundry Service Missionaries – Retrieve wet baptismal clothing, clean, fold, and store temple clothing.
  • Positions are Monday – Saturday; Mornings, afternoons, and evenings.
• Grounds Service Missionaries – April through October – Help keep temple grounds beautiful.
  • Positions are Monday – Saturday; Mornings and afternoons.
• Housekeeping Service Missionaries –
  • Volunteer Coordinators – Help coordinate cleaning activities of stake cleaning volunteers and Asst. Coordinators. Each position could have 1 or 2 people or a couple could serve together. Should be comfortable assigning and directing groups of 12-16 individuals.
    • Positions are Mondays 2 pm – 5:30 pm; and Tuesday – Friday 8 pm – 12 Midnight.
    Asst. Volunteer Coordinators – Coordinate cleaning activities of stake cleaning volunteers. Each position could have 1 or 2 people, and a couple could serve together. Should be comfortable assigning and directing groups of 12-16 individuals.
    • Positions are Mondays 2 pm – 5:30 pm; and Tuesday – Friday 8 pm – 12 Midnight.
    Specialists – Specialties include General Cleaning, Flowers/Silk Plants, Bouquets, Trees, Pictures, Carpet/Upholstery, Marble Floor Cleaning, or General Support (Will train on specific equipment).
    • Positions for Cleaning Specialists Mondays 1:30 pm – 5:30 pm.
• • • Positions for Flowers/Picture needed Mondays 2 pm – 6 pm.
• • • Positions for Carpet/Upholstery needed Mondays 10 am – 3 pm.
• • • Positions for Marble Floor Cleaning needed every Monday 2 pm – 6 pm.
• • • Positions for General Support needed every Monday 2 pm – 6 pm.
• • Porters – Refresh paper supplies and empty wastebaskets. Should be able to work unsupervised. No heavy lifting is required. This position is gender specific.
    • Positions for Tuesdays through Saturdays at various times (10 am – 3 pm; 3 pm – 8 pm).
  • Porter Substitutes – Be on call as substitute porters (See above). This position is gender specific.
    • Brothers needed Tuesdays thru Saturdays (any Day/Time).
    • Sisters needed Tuesdays thru Saturdays (any Day/Time).

Members wishing to serve in these positions should counsel with their bishop, who then submits the member’s information to the temple recorder. The member should understand that a submitted recommendation does not ensure that he or she will be called or assigned as a temple worker.
