by Susan Williams, Stake Education Specialist

Two Brigham City South Stake Education Specialists have been called to help members of our stake who may be interested in exploring resources to further their education. We have been specifically called to help members of the Brigham City South Stake.

The Utah Area Presidency has initiated a new church education program called the Utah Education Initiative. It has been created to provide another resource to help members explore Utah’s higher education programs.

The Utah Education Initiative may help:

  • High school seniors and young single adults
  • Returned missionaries
  • Immigrant populations
  • Those needing to gain new job skills to improve their employment situation
  • Adults who have some college but no degree

Education Specialists are mentors who will help interested members create a personalized education plan, assist in enrolling them in a higher education program, and help them identify scholarships and other financial aid. Their mentor then will follow up regularly with the students to encourage progress toward their goals.

If you feel you may benefit from this one-on-one help, please contact Sister Williams or Sister Cummings, depending on which ward you are in. We would be more than happy to help you explore your opportunities.

The stake’s Preparedness Fair is coming up on Saturday, April 20th. The Utah Education Intuitive specialists and the Pathway representatives will be available at that time to visit with anyone interested.
