by David E Bay, High Councilor

General Conference gave us wonderful messages from the General Officers, General Authorities, Apostles, and God’s Prophet. Hopefully you have started to study these messages. Then we were able to celebrate the Holy Week, from Palm Sunday to Easter. Last Saturday and Sunday we were blessed to receive inspired direction from our Stake Presidency focused on our Stake’s needs.

In our Stake Conference we were taught the following and much more.

  • We spend too much time trying to be perfect, instead of just doing the best we can and then repenting because we are not perfect.
  • Faith is not to have a perfect knowledge.
  • We will never be perfect in this life.
  • Heavenly Father loves us unconditionally.
  • Repentance is a privilege. If we are failing, we are human.
  • As we keep our covenants, we become more connected to our Savior, Jesus Christ.
  • We receive guidance in our lives from many good sources, including:
    • The Light of Christ
    • Guidance from good principles
    • The Influence of the Holy Ghost
    • The Gift of the Holy Ghost
  • We will all have the opportunity to stand and be judged by Jesus Christ.
  • We can develop a relationship with Jesus now.
  • Worthiness interviews are practice sessions for our final interview.
  • God will judge us lovingly.
  • We are the Hope of Israel, the army that we have been singing about.
  • We are enlisted in Christ’s Army and require revelation constantly to be the most effective soldiers.
  • Christ’s Army is a constructive army that brings Christ’s love and relief to the former foes who become our brethren.
  • We can find our Savior and revelation as we go to the Temple and participate in temple ordinances.

Additionally, many of our stake members, our youth and their parents and Young Adults both married and single from 18 to 35 years old and others are invited to participate in meetings with an Apostle, General Authorities, General Officers, and Area Authorities on Saturday, May 3.

I am grateful that we are so very blessed here in Brigham City.
